Peter Robert Strelke passed away on January 8, 2022, at the age of 86, in San Diego, California. He passed peacefully early in the morning after a long battle with COPD.

Peter was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on June 29, 1935, to Adolph and Marion Strelke. Peter attended Pius High School and Milwaukee Area Technical College in Milwaukee, WI. He joined the US Marines in 1952 and was stationed at Camp Pendleton in Oceanside, California. He traveled the world during his military service which ended in 1958. After the Marines, he returned to Milwaukee where he met his wife Sharon Louise (Gertenbach) Strelke. They were married in 1960 and had four children; they divorced in 1969. Peter married his second wife Annie Lee (Talley) Strelke in 1972 and together they raised Peters children and Annie’s son after Sharon’s death in 1971. They divorced in 1984. He later married Diane Mary (Carpenter) Strelke in 1992 and was widowed in 2004.

Peter held multiple jobs including construction, butcher, car salesman and long-haul truck driver. He was a hard-working, quiet, family man who enjoyed family gatherings, movies, travel, and good food. In his younger days, he enjoyed fishing, camping, and playing in the parks with his children. In his recent past, a perfect day would be to gather with family for a nice meal and a movie.

Peter will be most remembered for storytelling, his Sicilian spaghetti recipe and his loyalty to family and friends.

Peter is survived by his ex-wife Annie Lee Strelke, his children Kari (Leon) Davis, Paula (Paul) Draxler, Robert Strelke, Garreth (Mary) Strelke, Marcie (Theo) Adkins and his three stepsons, Willie Cherry, Francis Myers, and John Myers; his grandchildren, Kaci, Chante, Deidra, Rory, Anthony, Trevor, Lindsay, Courtney, and Jacob; as well as many great grandchildren; his sisters, Pat Hurley, Gayle Amstadt and his brother Mark Zembrowski.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Diane Villareal, his wives Sharon Strelke and Diane Strelke and his grandson Ashtin Strelke.
