Jose Perez

On September 23, 2021, Jose Perez, age 80, of Escondido, CA, passed away in his home due to health complications.

Jose Perez was born July 9, 1941, in Jerez, Zacatecas. In 1962, He moved with his family to San Marcos, CA. He would meet and marry his wife, Maria Elia Perez Lemus, of more than 55 years.

Jose worked in the agriculture field managing citrus and avocado groves in northern San Diego County for more than 44 years.  He loved grafting avocado trees, so that tree growers produced top-grade avocados.  

Jose also enjoyed gardening.  He played men's softball serving as a pitcher for the men's softball team.  Attending Padres Baseball was another favorite past time. Jose's greatest joy was spending time with his family. He was a kind and loving partner to his spouse Elia and an amazing father/grandfather to their sons, daughters, and grandchildren. He spent his life loving and caring for his family quietly in the silence of his heart.

Jose Perez is survived by his wife, Maria Elia Perez Lemus, of Escondido, five children, Jose Luis Perez and his wife Xiomara, Maria Moreno and her husband Jose, Roberto Perez and his wife Maria Elena, Ana Lilia Perez and Eduardo Perez and his wife Marta Ruiz, eight grandchildren and one great-grandson. Jose is survived by his sisters Amalia Fernandez, Francisca Fernandez, Guadalupe Orozco, Margarita Casares, and his brothers Francisco Perez, Juan Perez, Pedro Perez, Angel Perez, Mario Perez, and Rosendo Perez.

He was proceeded in death by his parents Jose C. Perez and Maria Paz Pere
