John Menhart Zoldi, 77 years old, passed into the loving hands of our Lord on January 17, 2021. He was born on August 29, 1943 in Plainfield, New Jersey. John was preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth and Menhart, and his brother Joseph. After careers at General Electric and Knolls Atomic Power lab, John found his true passion as a professor of mathematics at the University of Maine where he taught for 29 years. John was a master teacher and was well loved and respected by his students. He retired in 2000 due to health problems and moved to California in 2004.
John leaves his loving wife of 55 years, Margie, son Scott and daughter-in-law, Shinar of San Diego, California, and daughter Cindy of Los Alamos, New Mexico; grandsons Ryan and Anthony, and granddaughter Janna and her husband Tony, sister-in-law Lois, and nieces Hope and Heather. John was much loved and our world will be less bright without him.
He will be interred at the historic Mission San Luis Rey cemetery in Oceanside, California.
