Diane Isabelle Ogan (Turrell) passed away peacefully from her husband’s loving embrace into the arms of the Lord on May 1, 2020 after a long illness with Alzheimers. Diane passed away knowing how much she was loved and cared for by her husband, children, grandchildren and her friends and neighbors.
Diane was born on March 31,1938, daughter to Harry and Sarah Turrell in Silverton, Oregon. She was the middle child and worked in the family businesses until she met the love of her life who swept her off her feet. She married Sherman R. Ogan on Valentine’s Day in 1962 in Yuma, AZ. They went on to spend 58 beautiful years together and had 2 children. She was a military wife who embraced traveling the world and lived in Japan and Hawaii among other military bases around the United States.
Diane spent 20 years working in retail sales after her children were grown, but her true calling and purpose in life was being a devoted wife and loving mother who tirelessly and lovingly took care of her family.
Diane is survived by her protector and forever loving and patient husband, Sherman and her 2 children, Scott R. Ogan (Margaret) and Sheryl R. Simon. She is also survived by her 3 beautiful grandchildren, whom she cherished and loved very much; Ryan A. Ogan, Jakob A. Ogan and Daniel J. Simon. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and went to many of their plays, baseball and hockey games. Diane also leaves behind many special friends and neighbors who loved her dearly. Besides her parents, she is also preceded in death by her older brother, Gene Turrell.
Due to the current health crisis, there will not be a funeral service, but there will be a gravesite burial on May 14, 2020 at 10 am at the VA Cemetery, 5795 Nobel Drive in San Diego, CA 92122.
