Basilisa Flores, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed peacefully at home surrounded by family on May, 25, 2023. She was, and continues to be, the matriarch of the family. She is the glue that holds us together. Her love for her family was undoubtedly unconditional. Cooking was one of her fortes. It brought family together. She was a lover of nature. A self-taught plant connoisseur. She had the ability to flourish any plant to its maximum potential. Admirer of all flowers, as they paid homage to her last name. Violin music from her native San Luis Potosi was her favorite. It reminded her of her childhood as her father was a violinist. Petite in size but a giant in presence, determination, and spirit. For the last five years of her life, Basilisa was battling a rare and aggressive cancer, cholangiocarcinoma. She received a prognosis of one year. She lived four more years. That exemplifies who she was. A warrior. A fighter. Lover of life. Determined. Stubborn. Resilient. She will be missed by everyone who knew her. Her passing leaves an insurmountable mark. We are certain she is rejoicing in the kingdom of heaven as she watches over us. Rest in peace momma, we love you.
