Russell Allen Kay

Russell A. Kay, 68, formerly of Girard, Ohio, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2019.  Russ was born in Youngstown, Ohio on September 27, 1951, the son of Albert and Wanda (Humble) Kay.  He graduated from Girard High School in 1970 and attended Youngstown State University.  Russ Moved to California and worked as a machinist for 35 years.  He retired from General Atomics after 23 years in September of 2019.

Russ was the youngest of six children and he will be sadly missed and always remembered by his family, siblings James (Bev), John (Theresa) of Girard, Ohio, Thomas (Anna Kay) of El Mirage, Arizona, Susan (Edward) Ardale of Austintown, Ohio, and his sister-in-law Pat Kay, of Houston, Texas.  He also leaves many nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved very much and who adored their Uncle Russ.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Dick.

Russ was an avid Cleveland Browns and Indians fan, as well as The Ohio State University.  He enjoyed deep sea fishing in Mexico, attending Spring Training games in Arizona, and was an avid reader.

The family would like to thank Gateway Gardens in Poway, CA and also Elizabeth Hospice for their care and compassion.  Tom and Kay would like thank their children Dawn, Kelly, Chrissi, and Paul for all of their support for their Uncle and them.
