Mabel Grace Sullivan

Mabel Grace Sullivan passed away on November 24, 2018 at the age of 102. She never lost her joyful spirit and taught everyone who knew her how to appreciate each new day.

After graduating from high school in 1933, Mabel attended business college in Des Moines, Iowa. She worked for ten years at Bankers Trust in Des Moines before moving to California where she was initially employed by Anheuser Bush and the El Monte School District. She spent most of her working life with Anaheim School District which grew from two to twenty-two schools while she was there.

On January 10th, 1946 Mabel married the love of her life, Donald K. Sullivan. They enjoyed 53 years together before he passed away in 1999. Though life was never the same, Mabel lived 18 more years, adjusting to a new century and making many, many new friends along the way. 

She was fond of saying that she looked forward, not back. Her graceful acceptance of the many loses and challenges one faces when living a long life was a true inspiration to all who knew her.

Mabel is survived by her sister and brother-in-law Barbara and Bill Schneider of San Diego, her niece Kathy Olsen of San Diego, and her niece Karen Williams of Florida.
