Donald Eugene Porter

OCEANSIDE - Donald “Donnie” Porter, 79, died Thursday, March 8th, 2018.

Born August 27, 1938, in Oceanside, he lived in the Vista & Oceanside area his entire life. He served for 4 years in the Navy before returning to Vista and settling down with his loving wife, Vera. 

He enjoyed both playing and coaching sports, and after retiring from a lifelong career at Lusardi Construction, he enjoyed playing golf with friends. Most of all, he loved being a member of Calvary Chapel, his church and family of over 30 years.

Donnie is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Vera Lomeli of Oceanside; sons and daughters-in-law, Donald & Adriana Porter of Spring Valley; David & Kim Porter of Oceanside and Darin & Julie Porter of Marietta, GA; sisters and brothers-in-law Loretta and Ron Nevaras of Vista, Sherry & Gary Dennis of Paso Robles, and beloved grandchildren, Josh, Jenna, Meghan, Katlyn, Anthony, Carson & Delaney.  He was preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy Porter of Vista.

A memorial service will be held at Calvary Chapel Vista, 885 East Vista Way, at 1pm on Friday, March 16th, followed by a private cremation and interment at a later date.
